Hello and Welcome

I am so happy you are here. My role as a counsellor, coach, and instructor is to support you to examine your internal life, explore parts of self, and connect with your inner resources - your voice of wisdom, clarity and compassion so you can better understand where feelings of being stuck, out of alignment, and overwhelm come from. And work together to design a set of mindful practices, and reflective and contemplative activities to help you understand your life from new perspectives. We need all parts of self moving in the same direction for lasting change.

My orientation to this work is rooted in social work, psychosynthesis, and nature based mindfulness. Psychosynthesis believes we are all inherently whole and good, and each individual has the capacity to tune in, deeply, to a sense of life purpose. In the same sense, families, groups, businesses and cultures have the potential for responding to what is truly important, building slowly but surely towards a healthier world. Psychosynthesis has been called “Psychology with a Soul”. It is an integrative psychology combining Eastern wisdom with Western thought. Unlike some psychologies, it incorporates the Spiritual or Transpersonal Self into its view of the individual.

My work centres around connecting people with their deepest nature as revealed through the language of their bodies, sub-personalities, dreams, art, and other manifestations of their psyche. From this place, which we reference as the 'Call of Self' in Psychosynthesis, women have the potential to access a new relationship with their body, life, and work that is grounded in deep purpose and individual expression.

The crafting of a meaningful life is really at the heart of our work together. Here are some examples of the ways I can help:

➳ Find the source of what is making you feel stuck so you can change patterns for good and be the 'you' you want to be.

➳ Learn daily practices for mindfulness, self-reflection, stress management, and integration to increase feelings of happiness and wholeness.

➳ Connect with the natural world and the healing effects of the forests, mountains, oceans and stars to replenish your energy.

➳ Learn techniques to anchor when the waters around you are stormy, and painful feelings have surfaced.

➳ Navigate difficult life experiences like divorce or the death of a loved one, and be supported through grief and re-adjustment phases.

➳ Find meaning and purpose in the second half of life.

➳ Understand feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and imposter syndrome, and reconnect to your authentic self.

➳ Tend to your inner life, and learn the language of your body so you can make peace with it and thrive.

Education & Training

In addition to a Bachelor of Social Work degree and 30 years of experience, I have a background in coaching, teaching, group facilitation, and managing complex health care improvement projects. I am also trained and certified in Psychosynthesis through the Synthesis Centre in San Francisco, and bound by the Board Certified Coaching Code of Ethics. Please note I'm currently in the process of renewing my registration with the BC College of Social Workers which will allow clients to use extended health benefits early in the new year.

My consulting and coaching studio is located in the forest, surrounded by 150-year-old trees. My work is inspired by Roberto Assagioli, the Italian Psychiatrist who founded Psychosynthesis, Jungian Analyst Marion Woodman, and great artists and writers like Georgia O'Keeffe, Richard Wagamese, and Mary Oliver.
