✨ Hello, I'm Rachel
I created Women’s Art & Social Change for women who believe creativity can shape the world and want to explore how. This course is for you if you’ve ever felt moved by a painting that spoke truth, been inspired by women who dared to resist through art, or sensed that your own creative voice could be a force for change—even in small, powerful ways.
I am an activist and artist at heart. I teach contemplative and nature-based art classes, and am deeply passionate about the ways creativity can spark change. My journey began as a documentary filmmaker, collaborating with international organizations like Rights Action to produce and direct human rights films. My award-winning documentary Defensora is featured in law school curricula across Canada and the United States. If you are interested, you can watch the film here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-1qQoUEeO8
Based on Canada’s west coast, in the mountains, my studio is surrounded by 150-year-old trees. I’m passionate about travel and recently spent time at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, the landscape that inspired Georgia O’Keeffe’s iconic work. I thrive on connecting with creative communities, sharing stories of resilience, and celebrating the beauty and strength found across diverse cultures.
Please join me if this work speaks to you. I look forward to meeting you.
Warmly, Rachel
